Imperial Headwear. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountain Region, Imperial Headwear has been providing a tradition of quality and performance for over 90 years! We're a company with a strong history and a long standing place in the Denver community. Founded in 1916, Imperial first entered the headwear industry as a manufacturer of highly fashionable wool dress caps. Uniform dress caps were added to the product line in the 1920s and 1930s and by the advent of World War II, wool military caps became a major sales generator. By the 1950's, Imperial became one of the first headwear manufacturers to cater to the growing golf industry. Dating back to our roots in the wool dress cap business, each and every product Imperial brings to market is a result of careful thought and design. In the 1950s, Imperial developed and helped popularize the adjustable strap and buckle (see Best-Fit Cap). Imperial was also the first cap manufacturer to use eyelets on the crown of a baseball style cap, a style feature that is now mainstream on most headwear today. This strong design tradition has continued with Imperial leading the way in fashion, fabric, and color in headwear today.
